Need a Conservation Speaker?

Orange County SWCD participates in many educational outreaches each year, including hosting workshops, field days, conservation farm tours, presentations to local schools and many more. Interested in having us speak at your event? We can talk about soil health, water quality and the financial assistance programs that we offer to Orange County landowners. We can talk with grade school children and adults alike! We’re happy to help! Just give us a call at 812-203-3033 or stop by the office to discuss your needs.

Hoosier Riverwatch

We are also actively involved in monitoring the water quality of our streams and rivers within the county. We perform regular water monitoring on eight sites throughout the area, including sites on Lost River, Lick Creek, Carters Creek and several more. We are always looking for volunteers to assist with monitoring and cleanup days. We host yearly Hoosier Riverwatch trainings here at the office. These trainings are free to the public. Contact us for more details.
